E-Learning Center was established in 2001-2002 as Distance Learning Center, to promote the culture of distance education and e-learning at Kuwait University. The center facilitates the process of education through advanced technologies used in distance education and e-learning. New facilities have been identified as not a substitute for traditional but parallel education.
The system began in one classroom in 2001 and gradually began to increase the number of classrooms equipped until it reached 24 classrooms in 2015/2016. The Center has gradually developed traditional classrooms into what are known as distance learning classrooms as a basis for the development of the educational process at Kuwait University. Distance learning classrooms feature many facilities using multi-media technology & devices, along with distance learning systems through videoconferencing.
The offered technologies and services provided by the center serve the educational process and facilitates interaction between the professor of material and students, which leads to the ease of delivery of information to all students at various levels and ways of absorption. The center was restructured in 2018, to become E-Learning Center.
